TASMANIAN INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION Industrial Relations Act 1984 Police Association of Tasmania POLICE AWARD
Award variation – Clause 11, Expense Allowances – Clause 12, Transfer Expenses – Clause 16, Leave – Clause 21, Physical Surveillance Services and Police Technical Support (Surveillance) Services – Clause 22, Special Capability Unit – Clause 23, Dog Handlers - application approved - consent order – operative date 25 August 2008 Award variation – Clause 12.2, Property Sale Expenses - application approved - consent order – operative date 1 December 2007 REASONS FOR DECISION [1] This application seeks to vary a number of expense related allowances. [2] Ms Smith explained that in most cases the changes followed similar allowances in the GCOE Award, or alternatively, have been adjusted to reflect the long established formula involving the change in the CPI between the March quarter 2007 and the March quarter 2008. [4.25%][1] [3] Clause 12 Transfer Expenses has been reviewed and is now based on the median price for a 3br. House in Hobart. [4] A new clause Return to Work Whilst on Leave has been inserted. [5] Mr Martin endorsed the submissions of Ms Smith and indicated the Commissioner of Police consented to the application. [6] I am satisfied that the application is consistent with both the Wage Fixing Principles and the public interest requirements of the Act. [7] The application is granted operative from 25 August 2008, save for Clause 12.2, Property Sale Expenses, which is effective from 1 December 2007. [8] The order reflecting this decision is attached.
