Award variation - expense allowances - consent orders issued REASONS FOR DECISION [1] On 6 July 2010, applications were lodged by the Minister administering the State Service Act 2000, (MASSA), pursuant to s.23 of the Industrial Relations Act 1984, (the Act) to vary Tasmanian State Service Award and the Health and Human Services (Tasmanian State Service) Award. [2] A hearing commenced in Hobart on 21 July 2010. At the hearing Mr P Baker appeared for MASSA. Mr M Johnston appeared for the Community and Public Sector Union (State Public Services Federation Tasmania) Inc. (CPSU) while Mr C Brown appeared for the Health Services Union of Australia, Tasmania No. 1 Branch (HSU1). [3] Mr Baker explained that these applications sought to vary Meal Allowances and Travel Allowances consistent with ATO Determination 2010/19. [4] The applications were supported by Mr Johnston and Mr Brown. [5] I am satisfied that the applications are consistent with the public interest requirements of the Act. [6] The applications are granted and the Awards are varied operative from the beginning of the first pay period to commence on or after 21 July 2010. [7] The orders reflecting this decision follow.
