REASONS FOR DECISION

[1] On 30 July 2010, an application was lodged by the Minister administering the State Service Act 2000, pursuant to s.23 of the Industrial Relations Act 1984, to vary the AWU (Tasmanian State Sector) Award.

[2] A hearing commenced in Hobart on 10 August 2010.  Ms T Banman appeared for the Minister administering the State Service Act 2000 and Mr R Flanagan appeared for the Australian Workers' Union, Tasmania Branch. 

[3] Ms Banman explained that this application sought to vary Expense Related Allowances consistent with ATO Determination TD 2010/19.

[4] Mr Flanagan indicated consent to the application.

[5] I am satisfied that the application is consistent with the public interest requirements of the Act.

[6] The application is granted operative from the beginning of the first pay period to commence on or after 10 August 2010.

[7] The order reflecting this decision follows.
