Award variation – Appendix 11 - Dental Officers – new clause motor vehicle entitlements – order issued - operative date ffpp on or after 4 October 2011

REASONS FOR DECISION

[1] On 14 September 2011, an application was lodged by the Minister administering the State Service Act 2000, pursuant to s.23 of the Industrial Relations Act 1984, to vary the Health and Human Services (Tasmanian State Service) Award by inserting in Appendix 11 – Dental Officers a new clause 5 - Motor Vehicle Entitlements and renumbering existing Clause 5 – Miscellaneous to Clause 6.

[2] A hearing commenced in Hobart on 4 October 2011.  At the hearing Mr P Baker appeared for the Minister administering the State Service Act 2000. Mr J Eddington appeared for the Health Services Union of Australia, Tasmania No 1 Branch and the Community and Public Sector Union (SPSFT) Inc.

[3] This application reflects an agreed position relating to the provision of privately plated vehicles for senior salaried dentists.

[4] In consenting to the application, Mr Eddington recorded an undertaking that the provision of vehicles would be consistent with government policy as applicable.

[5] I am satisfied that the application is consistent with the public interest requirements of the Act.

[6] The application is granted operative from the beginning of the first pay period to commence on or after 4 October 2011.

[7] An order reflecting this variation is attached.
