Award variation – Appendix 11 - Dental Officers – vary introductory paragraph – consent order issued - operative date 6/12/11

REASONS FOR DECISION

[1] On 17 November 2011, an application was lodged by the Minister administering the State Service Act 2000, pursuant to s.23 of the Industrial Relations Act 1984, to vary the Health and Human Services (Tasmanian State Service) Award by varying the Introductory Paragraph to Appendix 11 – Dental Officers.

[2] A hearing was conducted in Hobart on 6 December 2011.  At the hearing Mr P Baker appeared for the Minister administering the State Service Act 2000 with Ms J Fitton.  Mr J Eddington appeared for the Health Services Union of Australia, Tasmania No 1 Branch with Mr R Moore.

[3] Mr Baker submitted that this application reflects changes within the agency and allows for a dentist to be employed at the Royal Hobart Hospital and for that dentist to receive remuneration.

[4] Mr Eddington consented to the application.

[5] I am satisfied that the application is consistent with the public interest requirements of the Act.

[6] The application is granted operative from 6 December 2011.

[7] A consent order reflecting this variation is attached.
