EDUCATION FACILITY ATTENDANTS SALARIES AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT INDUSTRIAL AGREEMENT 2011

DEPUTY PRESIDENT TIM ABEY
HOBART, 4 APRIL 2012

Industrial agreement – application approved – operative date 1/12/11 – forwarded to Registrar for registration

REASONS FOR DECISION

[1] On 4 April 2012, the Minister administering the State Service Act 2000 and United Voice, Tasmanian Branch, lodged with the Registrar, pursuant to Section 55(2) of the Industrial Relations Act 1984, the Education Facility Attendants Salaries and Conditions of Employment Industrial Agreement 2011.

[2] A hearing was held in Hobart on 4 April 2012. Mr K Grey appeared for the Minister administering the State Service Act 2000 and Mr P Tullgren appeared for United Voice, Tasmanian Branch.

[3] Mr Grey advised that this consolidated agreement sought to incorporate the $1000 or 2% salary adjustments arising from broader State Service wages agreement which had been incorporated into the State Service and Health and Human Services Awards.

[4] In addition, the Agreement adjusted the Protective Clothing provision and included a definition of annualised salaries.

[5] Mr Tullgren indicated that United Voice consented to the agreement.

[6] I am satisfied that the agreement is consistent with the public interest requirements of the Act, and does not disadvantage the employees concerned.

[7] Pursuant to s55(4), the Agreement is approved operative from the beginning of the first full pay period to commence on or after 1 December 2011 and shall remain in force until 30 June 2013.

[8]  The file will now be referred to the Registrar for registration in accordance with the requirements of Section 56(1) of the Act.
