POLICE AWARD

Award variation – expense related allowances - consent order –operative date 7/6/12 – award consolidated

DECISION

[1] On 24 May 2012, an application was lodged by the Police Association of Tasmania pursuant to s.23 of the Industrial Relations Act 1984, to vary the Police Award.

[2] A hearing was held in Hobart on 6 June 2012.  Ms A Smith appeared for the Police Association of Tasmania.  Mr T Martin appeared for the Commissioner of Police

[3] This application seeks to vary expense related allowances consistent with the change in the CPI (eight capital cities) between the March quarter 2011 and the March quarter 2012, an amount of 1.6%.

[4] Mr Martin consented to the application.

[5] I am satisfied that the application is consistent with the public interest requirements of the Act.

[6] The application is granted operative from 7 June 2012.

[7] The order reflecting this decision follows.
