DECISION


[1] On 26 June 2012, an application was lodged by the Minister administering the State Service Act 2000, (MASSA) pursuant to s.23 of the Industrial Relations Act 1984, to vary the Nurses (Tasmanian Public Sector) Award 2005.

[2] At the hearing in Hobart on 9 July 2012, Mr P Baker appeared for MASSA.  Ms A Stanislaus-Large appeared for the Australian Nursing Federation, Tasmanian Branch and Mr J Eddington appeared for Health Services Union of Australia, Tasmania No. 1 Branch

[3] Mr Baker explained that this application sought to remedy a number of omissions and errors in earlier Award variations.  The application also seeks to replace the existing Part VII Provision of Employee Accommodation and Meals with a new clause.

[4] Ms Stanislaus-Large and Mr Eddington supported the application.

[5] I am satisfied that the application is consistent with the public interest requirements of the Act.

[6] The application is granted operative from the beginning of the first pay period to commence on or after 9 July 2012.

[7] The order reflecting this decision will be reflected in a consolidated award to be issued in the immediate future.
