Award variation – Preceptor allowance – consent matter - award varied – operative date 12/7/12

DECISION

[1]          On 10 July 2012, an application was lodged by the Minister administering the State Service Act 2000, (MASSA), pursuant to s.23 of the Industrial Relations Act 1984, to vary the Nurses (Tasmanian Public Sector) Award 2005.

[2]          At the hearing in Hobart on 12 July 2012, Mr P Baker appeared for MASSA.  Ms A Stanislaus-Large appeared for the Australian Nursing Federation, Tasmanian Branch (ANF).  

[3]         Mr Baker explained that that the purpose of the application was to properly reflect the entitlement of the Preceptor Allowance consistent with the Heads of Agreement.[1]

[4]         Both the ANF and Health Services Union of Australia, Tasmania No. 1 Branch consented to the application.

[5]         I am satisfied that the application is consistent with the public interest requirements of the Act.

[6]         The application is granted operative from 12 July 2012.

[7]          The order reflecting this decision will be reflected in a consolidated award to be issued in the immediate future.
