Award variation – In Charge of Shift Allowance – consent matter – award consolidated

DECISION

[1] On 25 July 2012, an application was lodged by the Minister administering the State Service Act 2000, (MASSA), pursuant to s.23 of the Industrial Relations Act 1984, to vary the Nurses (Tasmanian Public Sector) Award 2005.  The application sought to vary Clause (1)(b) of Part IV – Allowances with respect to In Charge of Shift nurses.

[2] At the hearing in Hobart on 27 July 2012, Mr P Baker appeared for MASSA.  Ms N Ellis appeared for the Australian Nursing Federation, Tasmanian Branch (ANF) with Ms F Peate. 

[3] The application sought to vary the In Charge of Shift allowance for Registered Nurse Grade 4.  The ANF consented to the application.  All parties were notified on 25 July 2012.

[4] I am satisfied that the application is consistent with the public interest requirements of the Act.

[5] The application is granted operative from 1 August 2012.

[6] The order reflecting this decision will be reflected in a consolidated award to be issued in the immediate future.
