DECISION
[1] On 14 August 2012, an application was lodged by the Minister administering the State Service Act 2000, (MASSA), pursuant to s.23 of the Industrial Relations Act 1984, to vary the Tasmanian State Service Award, the AWU (Tasmanian State Sector) Award and the Port Arthur Authority Award with regard to accommodation and meal allowances.
[2] At a hearing on 17 August 2012, Mr K Grey appeared for MASSA. Ms C Miller and Ms K Bicket appeared for the Community and Public Sector Union (State Public Services Federation Tasmania) Inc.. (CPSU)
[3] Mr Grey explained that this application sought to vary expense related allowances consistent with the ATO Taxation Determination TD 2012/17 for the 2012-13 financial year.
[4] Ms Miller consented to the application.
[5] I am satisfied that the application is consistent with the public interest requirements of the Act.
[6] The application is granted and the Awards will be varied operative from the beginning of the first pay period to commence on or after 17 August 2012.
