Award variation – new Clause 15.13 – Police Accumulated Leave Scheme – consent matter – o/d ffpp on or after 9/11/12 – award consolidated

DECISION

[1] On 1 November 2012, an application was lodged by the Police Association of Tasmania, (PAT), pursuant to s.23 of the Industrial Relations Act 1984, to vary the Police Award.

[2] At the hearing in Hobart on 9 November 2012, Mrs A Smith appeared for PAT.  Mr T Martin appeared for Commissioner of Police (COP) with Inspector G Keating.

[3] Mrs Smith explained that that the purpose of the application was to provide a new condition of employment for police officers which had been sought for a number of years. 

[4] Both the parties consented to the application.

[5] I am satisfied that the application is consistent with the public interest requirements of the Act.

[6] The application is granted operative from the first full pay period on or after 9 November 2012.

[7] The order reflecting this decision will be reflected in a consolidated award to be issued in the immediate future.
