Industrial Relations Act 1984
s23 application for award or variation of award

The Minister administering the State Service Act 2000
(T13993 of 2012)

Deputy President N Wells
HOBART, 23 November 2012

Award variation – wages – consent matter – award varied o/d ffpp on or after 23/11/12

DECISION

[1] On 21 November 2012, an application was lodged by the Minister administering the State Service Act 2000, (MASSA), pursuant to s.23 of the Industrial Relations Act 1984, to vary the Tasmanian State Service National Training Wage Award with respect to wages.

[2] At the hearing in Hobart on 23 November 2012, Mr P Baker appeared for MASSA.  He explained that that the purpose of the application was to remedy an oversight in that people employed under this award had not received a pay rise in August 2012 when the other state service awards were varied.

[3] I am satisfied that the application is consistent with the public interest requirements of s36 of the Act.

[4] The application is granted operative from the first full pay period on or after 23 November 2012.

[5] The order reflecting this decision will be included in a consolidated award to be issued in the immediate future.
