Award variation – expense related allowances - consent order –operative date 14/6/13

DECISION

[1]        On 27 May 2013, an application was lodged by the Police Association of Tasmania pursuant to s.23 of the Industrial Relations Act 1984, to vary the Police Award.

[2]        At the hearing on 14 June 2013, Mrs A Smith appeared for the Police Association of Tasmania and submitted that the application seeks to vary expense related allowances consistent with the change in the CPI (eight capital cities) between the March quarter 2012 and the March quarter 2013, an amount of 2.5%.

[3]        Inspector G Keating appeared for the Commissioner of Police and consented to the application.

[4]        I am satisfied that the application is consistent with the public interest requirements of the Act.

[5]        The application is granted operative from 14 June 2013.

[6]        The order reflecting this decision will be issued in due course.
