TASMANIAN INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION Industrial Relations Act 1984 Roger John and Robin Dianne Stanley
Appeal against decision in matter T.3851 of 1992 - long service leave - appeal dismissed REASONS FOR DECISION This was an appeal lodged under Section 70 of the Act 1984 against a decision made by the Deputy President of the Commission in matter T.3851 of 1992. The decision ordered the payment of $3851.15 to one John Sells by Roger John Stanley and Robin Dianne Stanley, trading as the Empire Hotel at Hobart, in full settlement of an entitlement to pro rata long service leave. At the time set for the hearing of the appeal the appellants, R.J. and R.D. Stanley, failed to appear. The Commission delayed the commencement of the hearing so that the appellants could be contacted. Advice was received from the appellants' place of residence that their whereabouts was unknown, and from the appellants' solicitors that they had notified them of the date and time of the hearing. The hearing proceeded and in the absence of the appellants and at the request of the Department of Employment, Industrial Relations and Training the appeal was dismissed.
