T3043
TASMANIAN INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION Industrial Relations Act 1984 See end of Decision for Awards Varied Metals and Engineering Workers' Union
Award variation - Parties and Persons Bound REASONS FOR DECISION In this matter the Metals and Engineering Workers' Union sought the variation of "Parties and Persons Bound" clauses in awards of this Commission to include that organisation's name in lieu of The Amalgamated Metal Workers' Union (AMWU) and the Association of Draughting, Supervisory and Technical Employees, Tasmanian Branch (ADSTE). The reason for the deletion from the Parties and Persons Bound clauses of any reference to the AMWU and ADSTE is as a consequence of the amalgamation of those particular employee organisations to form the Metals and Engineering Workers' Union. The amalgamation was formalised with respect to the State of Tasmania in matter T.3037 of 1991, operative from 1 April 1991. Accordingly as the registration of ADSTE has now been cancelled and given that the Registrar will effect the name change of The Amalgamated Metal Workers' Union to the Metals and Engineering Workers' Union also operative from 1 April 1991, the awards as set out in the attached Schedule A will be varied in the manner requested, operative from the same date. ORDERS We will leave it to individual Commissioners to process the necessary award variations and issue appropriate orders reflecting the decision we have made.
