Award variation - union name change - delete all reference to Electrical, Electronic, Plumbing and Allied Workers Union of Australia - insert Communications , Electrical, Electronic, Energy, Information, Postal, Plumbing and Allied Services Union of Australia - consent matter - award varied - operative 6 June 1995

REASONS FOR DECISION

In August 1994 the Australian Industrial Relations Commission confirmed the change of name of the Electrical, Electronic, Plumbing and Allied Workers Union to the Communications, Electrical, Electronic, Energy, Information, Postal, Plumbing and Allied Services Union of Australia (the Union). Subsequently the Registrar of the Tasmanian Industrial Commission registered the name of the Union in this Commission.

As a consequence of the name change the Union made application pursuant to Section 23 of the Act to delete reference to the Electrical, Electronic, Plumbing and Allied Workers Union of Australia in awards of the Commission as set out in the attached schedule and to include in lieu the name of the Union.

Having regard to the submissions of Mr Kenny appearing for the Union and to Exhibits K2 and K3 which contained evidence of the name change of the Union the variation requested to be made to the awards in the attached schedule is endorsed.

The orders, operative from 6 June 1995, will be issued in due course by Commissioners to whom the awards outlined in the schedule were assigned.
