Award variation - parties and persons bound

REASONS FOR DECISION

This was an application by the Health Services Union of Australia Tasmania No. 1 Branch (the Union) for amendments to the parties and persons bound clauses of fifteen awards so that the name "Hospital Employees Federation of Australia Tasmania Branch" (the HEF) be deleted and replaced with the Union's name.

The application arose out of the Union's recent change of name which was effected in this jurisdiction operative from 1 January 1991 in matter T. No. 3089 of 1991.

It will be noted, however, that three awards (Keyboard Employees and Office Assistants, Welfare Workers and Hospital Scientists) have been omitted; this is because the matter of the HEF's interest in those awards is currently under appeal in accordance with Section 70 of the Act.1

This being a purely procedural matter and there being no objectors, the Awards listed below will be amended as sought, operative from 1 January 1991.

Clerical Employees Award
Dentists Award
General Officers Award
General Conditions of Service Award
Hospital Employees (Public Hospitals) Award
Hospitals Award
Junior Employees (Public & Mental Health Services) Award
Medical Practitioners (Private Sector) Award
Technical Employees Award
Welfare and Voluntary Agencies Award
Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Speech Pathologists Award
Social Trainers Award
