TASMANIAN INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION Industrial Relations Act 1984 The Federated Miscellaneous Workers Union of Australia, SECURITY AND WATCHING SERVICES AWARD
State Wage Case August 1991 - 2.5% increase - granted REASONS FOR DECISION In this matter The Federated Miscellaneous Workers' Union of Australia, Tasmanian Branch (FMWU) sought the variation of the Security and Watching Services Award to reflect the 2.5 per cent in wage rates and allowances as determined in the 13 August 1991 State Wage Case decision1. The application to vary was supported by the Tasmanian Confederation of Industries (TCI). The parties were able to satisfy the Commission that the criteria outlined in Principle 2 - Structural Efficiency had been complied with. Many of the initiatives requiring implementation in the award were comprehended in the second structural efficiency adjustment2. Other facilitative clauses concerning consultative mechanisms and the requirement for employees to work as directed provided the work to be undertaken is within the limits of the employee's skill, competence and training, have been agreed in these proceedings and will be incorporated in the award. In all of the circumstances the Commission will vary the award, operative from the consent date of the first full pay period to commence on or after 23 September 1991. The parties have offered to provide a draft order for the perusal of the Commission. Order
