Wage rates - minimum rates adjustment

REASONS FOR DECISION

This was an application by The Australian Workers' Union, Tasmania Branch (the Union) for the fourth and final minimum rates adjustment (MRA) under the Structural Efficiency Principle to be introduced to the Clay and Mud Products Award (the Award).

The MRA process was commenced in the Award through matter T.3220 of 1991 and the second and third MRA's were implemented through matters T.3602 of 1992 and T.3888 of 1992 respectively. This application sought to complete the process as projected in the original matter.

The Union sought for this final MRA to commence from the first full pay period to commence on or after 25 February 1993.

The Tasmanian Confederation of Industries confirmed its agreement to the application and the proposed operative date.

The Award will be amended, as agreed, operative from the first full pay period to commence on or after 25 February 1993.

The order is attached.
