T4821 - 8 March
TASMANIAN INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION Industrial Relations Act 1984 The Australasian Meat Industry Employees Union, MEAT TRADES AWARD
Wage rates - State Wage Case December 1993 - arbitrated safety net adjustment - superannuation FURTHER REASONS FOR DECISION The attached order is as a consequence of my Reasons for Decision dated 24 January 1994. As well as giving effect to the $8.00 a week safety net adjustment the order contains consequential adjustments for superannuation contributions based on the General Butcher's rate. However some tidying up is needed in respect of the superannuation clause and to that extend a hearing has been set down for 9.00 am on 17 March 1994. It should be noted that the award superannuation provisions in respect of employer contribution levels has been overtaken by the Superannuation Guarantee (Administration) Act 1992. In addition to superannuation provisions in the award issues relating to piecework will also be heard on 17 March 1994. That part of the application T.4946 of 1994 dealing with the minimum wage can only be considered by a Full Bench and the matter will accordingly be referred to the President subsequent to finalisation of the issues relating to piecework and superannuation. In the meantime, as indicated above, the attached order expedites the variations determined in my 24 January 1994 decision.
