REASONS FOR DECISION

(1) This application lodged on 7 August 2001 by The Australian Workers' Union, Tasmania Branch, pursuant to Section 23 of the Industrial Relations Act 1984 (The Act), seeks to vary the Silviculture and Afforestation Award (the Award).

(2) Mr R Flanagan appeared for The Australian Workers' Union, Tasmania Branch and Mr M Watson for the Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Limited. Mr Flanagan said this application sought to vary, by consent, the Award in a manner consistent with the 2001 State Wage Case in matter T9605 of 2001.

(3) This consent variation amends Part III, Clause 1 - Wage Rates; Part IV, Clauses 2 - Industry Allowance; Clause 3 - Leading Hands Allowance and Part VIII, Clause 2 - First Aid and is to take effect from the first full pay period to commence on or after 1 August 2001.
