Industrial agreement - application approved - operative date ffpp 1 August 2003 for a period of 12 months - forwarded to A/Registrar for registration REASONS FOR DECISION (1) On 4 September 2003 The Australian Workers' Union, Tasmania Branch and Adelaide Mushrooms (Nominees) Pty Ltd lodged with the Acting Registrar, pursuant to Section 55(2) of the Industrial Relations Act 1984, the Tasmanian Mushrooms Agreement 2003. (2) When this matter came on for hearing on 17 September 2003, Mr D Hayes appeared for union. Mr A Cameron, of the Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Limited, appeared for the employer. (3) Mr Cameron advised that this Agreement replaces the 2002 Agreement approved on 3 October 2002.1 Apart from the application of the 2003 State Wage decision, there has been minimal change from the previous Agreement. (4) Mr Hayes advised that the workforce have been fully consulted and support the Agreement. (5) I am satisfied that the Agreement is consistent with both the Wage Fixing Principles and the public interest requirements of the Act. (6) Pursuant to s.55[4] of the Act, the agreement is approved operative from the beginning of the first pay period to commence on or after 1 August 2003 and shall remain in force for a period of 12 months. (7) The file will now be referred to the Acting Registrar for registration in accordance with the requirements of Section 56(1) of the Act.
